A highly realistic Sterling Silver medal replica of a Fifth Century BC Athenian "decadrachm" coin set in bronze. In Greek, "deca" [Δεκα] means ten and "drachma" [Δραχμη] is the ancient currency that originated in the Sixth Century BC and was used by many Ancient Greek city states. On the front is an image of Goddess Athena (being the "warrior Goddess", always helmeted). On the back is an image of the owl, with rarely seen spread wings, which the favorite bird of Goddess Athena and the symbol of wisdom.
