"Jesus Christ Victorious" Gold Medal

A solid 14K yellow Gold Round Cross Medallion with navy blue hot enamel enhancement, granulation around the edge and a turquoise cabochon in the center.

The face of the pendant is an elegantly ornate rendition of the Byzantine acronym, in Greek, of the words "Jesus" (IησουC) and "Christ" (ΧριστοC) and the Greek word "Victorious" (ΝΙΚΑ). 

On the back is an embossed depiction of Emperor Constantine the Great (311-337 AD, in Greek: Κωνσταντινος ο Μεγας), the first Christian Roman Emperor who, after his death, became Saint Constantine alongside his mother Saint Helen (who discovered The Holy Cross).

In Greek this is called a Κωνσταντινατο (Konstantinato) because it's design, in 9th Century AD, was inspired by a 24K gold coin first issued by Emperor Constantine. For more than a 1,000 years that coin was the "dollar of Europe", accepted as currency everywhere on the Continent.
