Goddess Athena Corinthian Gold Medallion
Solid 18K Yellow Gold replica of an Ancient Greek Stater (Στατηρας) coin of Goddess Athena with the Corinthian helmet that is is securely suspended by four prongs on an outer ring. Generously sized and flexible bail.
On the reverse side there is an image of Pegasus (the winged horse), which was the ancient symbol of the City of Corinth. The Greek word Συρακοσιων ("of the Syracuseans"), right under Pegasus, indicates that this particular version was minted in the Sicilian City of Syracuse, a colony of Ancient Corinth, during the 4th or 3rd century BC.
