Small Byzantine Christogram Cross

Small, imposing, equilateral sterling silver cross with ornate 18K gold detail.  The center contains an 18K gold Christogram. This symbol is composed of the Greek letters Αλφα Χι Ρο Ωμεγα (Alpha Chi Rho Omega), symbolizing Christ (ΧΡ for Χριστος) being the beginning and the end (AΩ). This symbol is atop a background of mother of pearl.  Features an openable bail with a security (last photo).

This particular cross style is that of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople (present day: Istanbul)
