On the left are the Greek words Ο Αγιος (The Saint). On the right is the full Greek name: Δημητριος. Carved curlicue designs on the back.
This is a reliquary cross. As shown in the fourth photo, it opens on the back to accept a holy relic or a sentimental keepsake.
