On the left is the Greek word Αγιος (Saint). On the right are the first three letters of the Greek name: Νικολαος. Carved curlicue designs on the back.
This is a reliquary cross. As shown in the fourth photo, it opens on the back to accept a holy relic or a sentimental keepsake.
